TOOLMAN TM905 Shoulder Rebate Plane

A multi purpose plane. The plane combines the features of a shoulder rebate, chisel plane and adjustable mouth bull-nose plane. As a shoulder plane, the front extension piece is fitted as a chisel plane all nose pieces are removed; and as a bull-nose plane, the thinner nose piece is fitted in conjunction with one or both of the precision machined steel shims (1/32" and 1/64") - or for very fine work, without either shim.
The body is machined from a quality grey iron casting and precision ground on the sole and sides. The lever arm is also of grey iron. The cutting iron fits smoothly onto the machined pads in the body and can be adjusted by means of the screw. Bright Ground finish.

TM930 Side Rabbet Edge Plane

Edge-trimming planes are used for final trimming cuts on jointed boards to ensure smooth edges at exactly 90° to the face, and for working end grain. The fence is drilled to allow blocks to be added or to affix a wooden wedge for cutting controlled bevels, such as in boatbuilding.
The depth-adjustment mechanism is a large thumb wheel and an independent traveller, resulting in fast and accurate depth setting with no blade skewing. Set screws along the side prevent the blade from shifting when knots are encountered.
The internal angle has a round relief milled to allow the sharp edge of the board to sit within. The bed angle is set at 12 degrees with the blade skewed to 30 degrees to aid in easier and cleaner end grain work. Because the ductile iron surfaces are prone to rust, they should be initially sealed and regularly maintained with a silicone-free paste wax to prevent moisture/sweat from corroding the working surfaces. The surfaces are treated with a rust preventive out of the box, so the plane arrives in tip top condition, so remove this surface finish with mineral spirits before applying a wax treatment. The wax treatment, once dried and buffed, also reduces surface friction, helping the plane to glide over the wood surface much easier.

A solid bronze iron cap, coated with a layer of stainless steel. The sole features a moveable shoe which allows to set the mouth opening on the plane to suit the type of cut being taken. The cap is an enhanced design from Stanleys old No.140 skew rebate block plane, the plane also features brass spin wheel with brass fittings, brass adjuster nut and cap screw. The 6-3/8" long body is 1-3/4" wide and is comfortable in the hand, the adjustable mouth provides control for making whatever shavings you need.
